§ 5.16.070. Bond and insurance requirements for city issued licenses.

  • Before any person is allowed to continue to be issued a city electrician's license, the person shall execute and deposit with the clerk a bond in the sum of five thousand dollars, with sureties approved by the clerk and mayor. The bond is to be held as security that the licensee will fulfill these conditions:

    A.

    Compliance. That all electrical work performed by the licensee or under his supervision shall be performed in accordance with the provisions of the applicable ordinances of the city.

    B.

    Penalties. That he will pay all fines and penalties properly imposed upon him for violation of the ordinances of the city.

    C.

    Liability. That the city shall be held free from any liability sustained by reason of neglect or incompetency of such licensee or other person working under his supervision.

    D.

    Insurance. In addition thereto, certificates shall be also deposited, showing that the licensee has in force public liability and property damage insurance limits of at least one hundred thousand dollars and three hundred thousand dollars and fifty thousand dollars property damage and also workman's compensation insurance.
